Terms of Service
Effective July 31, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Teddy Code LLC for the use of Tiltza. Please read them, particularly the section on accuracy: this is a household reference, not a certified instrument.

Acceptance
Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Tiltza on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial use. All rights not granted here are reserved.
What you may not do
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise redistribute the app or any part of it;
- use its readings for structural, surveying, medical, aviation or any other work where an error could cause injury or property damage;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- remove or alter any attribution, copyright or licence notice;
- use the app for anything unlawful, or in a way that interferes with anyone else.
Ownership and third-party material
Tiltza's name, logo, artwork, code and interface belong to Teddy Code LLC.
The interface glyphs are Material Design Icons under the Apache 2.0 licence, and the app is built on open-source libraries distributed under their own licences. Those licences cover the underlying works, not Tiltza as a whole. The full attribution list is available at contact@teddy-code.com.
Not a certified instrument
Tiltza reads the accelerometer in your phone. That sensor has its own bias and noise, it drifts with temperature, and the surface it is really measuring is the back of your phone, which a case, a camera bump or a speck of grit will tilt. Calibration corrects the sensor's own offset against a surface you believe is level; it cannot correct that surface being wrong.
Two phones will disagree. Tiltza is a convenient reference for shelves, pictures, appliances and camper floors, and it is not a surveying, engineering or safety instrument.
Where not to rely on it
Do not use Tiltza to decide anything structural, to align anything that has to carry load, to set up medical or laboratory equipment, or in any situation where an error of a fraction of a degree matters. Those need a calibrated instrument and, usually, someone qualified to use it.
Also, keep hold of your phone. Balancing it on a ladder, a beam or the edge of anything to read the angle is a good way to lose the phone.
Price, advertising and future features
Tiltza is currently free and shows no advertising. Later versions may add advertising or optional extras. Any such change arrives through an app update, with the terms and the privacy policy in the app updated to match.
Availability and changes to the app
We may change, suspend or discontinue Tiltza or any of its features at any time, and we may release updates that add, alter or remove functionality. We are not obliged to keep any particular feature or version available.
No warranty
Tiltza is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teddy Code LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, revenue or opportunity arising from your use of Tiltza. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which for the free version is zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. The sections on ownership, warranties, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you use the app as a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights are unaffected.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect, and the updated text is published in the app. Continuing to use Tiltza after an update means you accept the new terms.
