Terms of Service

Effective July 31, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Teddy Code LLC for the use of Osito. Please read them, particularly the sections on health and on what the app does not do.

1

Acceptance

By installing or using Osito you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. Osito is provided by Teddy Code LLC, State of New Mexico, United States.

2

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Osito on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial use. All rights not granted here are reserved.

3

What you may not do

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise redistribute the app or any part of it;
  • present what the app shows as a clinical record, or use it to give anyone else medical advice about their child;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
  • remove or alter any attribution, copyright or licence notice;
  • use the app for anything unlawful, or in a way that interferes with anyone else.
4

Ownership and third-party material

Osito's name, logo, artwork, code and interface belong to Teddy Code LLC.

The interface glyphs are Material Design Icons under the Apache 2.0 licence, and the app is built on open-source libraries distributed under their own licences. Those licences cover the underlying works, not Osito as a whole. The full attribution list is available at contact@teddy-code.com.

5

Not medical advice

Osito is a log book. It is not a medical device and it is not medical advice. It does not assess whether your baby is feeding enough, sleeping enough or growing properly, it makes no recommendation about any of that, and the averages it shows are arithmetic on what you entered, not a clinical assessment.

Your paediatrician, midwife or health visitor is who decides what your baby needs. If you are worried about feeding, weight, dehydration, breathing or anything else about your baby's health, contact them or your local emergency service. Do not wait to see what the app says.

6

It does not watch your baby

Osito is not a baby monitor, not an alarm and not a safety device. It does not sense your baby, it does not alert you to anything, and it will not tell you that a feed or a nap has gone on too long. A running timer keeps running; that is all it does.

Never rely on it for anything to do with your baby's safety, and follow current safe-sleep guidance from your health service rather than any pattern you think you see in the app.

7

Your records are yours to keep

Everything you log lives only on your device. That is the point of the app, and it has a cost: if you lose the phone, reset it or uninstall Osito, the entries are gone, and we cannot recover them for you because we never had them. This version has no export and no cloud backup.

If the history matters to you, keep your own copy of anything important.

8

Price, advertising and future features

Osito is currently free and shows no advertising. Later versions may add advertising or optional extras. Any such change arrives through an app update, with the terms and the privacy policy in the app updated to match.

9

Availability and changes to the app

We may change, suspend or discontinue Osito or any of its features at any time, and we may release updates that add, alter or remove functionality. We are not obliged to keep any particular feature or version available.

10

No warranty

Osito is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate for any particular purpose.

11

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teddy Code LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, revenue or opportunity arising from your use of Osito. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which for the free version is zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12

Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. The sections on ownership, warranties, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.

13

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you use the app as a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights are unaffected.

14

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect, and the updated text is published in the app. Continuing to use Osito after an update means you accept the new terms.
