Privacy Policy

Effective July 31, 2026

Osito is made by Teddy Code LLC. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: everything you log about your baby is written to your own phone and stays there. There is no account, no cloud and no one else who can read it, including us.

1

Who we are

Osito is published by Teddy Code LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of New Mexico, United States. For any question about this policy, write to contact@teddy-code.com.

2

Information we do not collect

We do not ask for, receive or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location or any other personal identifier. Osito has no account, no sign-in and no user profile.

We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

3

Information stored on your device

Osito is a log, so it does store what you log. All of it is written to the app's private storage on your phone:

  • your entries: feeds (breast side and duration, or bottle amount), diaper changes, sleep periods, each with the time it happened and any note you added;
  • any timer that is still running, so a feed or a nap survives the phone restarting;
  • your unit preference, millilitres or ounces;
  • your language and appearance preferences;
  • a counter of how many times the app has been opened.

This is information about an infant, which is exactly why the app was built without a backend: there is no server holding your baby's routine, no account that could be breached and no export that happens without you. The data is not readable by other apps and is not accessible to us. Deleting an entry removes it, and uninstalling the app removes everything, which also means there is no copy to restore from. If your phone's own backup is switched on, your operating system may include the app's data in that backup, under the rules of whoever provides it.

4

Permissions

Osito requests no runtime permissions at all. It does not ask for access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos, files or notifications.

5

Internet use

Osito works offline. Your entries are never uploaded and there is no server they could be uploaded to. The app reaches the internet in only two situations:

  • Updates. On launch the app may contact the Expo update service (operated by 650 Industries, Inc.) to check whether a newer version of the app code is available. That request carries technical details such as the app version, platform and runtime version, plus the IP address inherent to any internet connection. It carries no personal identifier and nothing about your baby or what you logged.
  • Advertising, in a future version. See the advertising section below.
6

Advertising

This version of Osito shows no advertising and requests no ads. Google's Mobile Ads library is included in the app so that a later version can be supported by advertising, but it is switched off: the SDK is not initialised, no consent prompt is shown and no ad is ever requested.

If we turn advertising on in a future release, we will publish an updated policy with it. Where the law requires consent (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and US states with applicable privacy laws) you will be asked before any personalized advertising, and you will be able to refuse. Google describes its own handling of advertising data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

7

Children

Osito is for parents and carers. It is meant to be installed and used by an adult, it is not directed to children, and it is not a Designed for Families app: nothing in it is intended for a child to use.

The app is about a child, which is a different thing from being used by one. The entries you write describe an infant's feeding, nappies and sleep, and that information is treated the way the rest of this policy describes: written to your device, never transmitted, never seen by us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and because we collect nothing there is nothing for us to delete. If you believe otherwise, please contact us.

8

Your rights

Because we do not collect or process personal data about you, we hold nothing to give you access to, correct, export or erase. The data described above stays under your control on your own device.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Brazil, California or another region with data-protection law, you can still write to us at contact@teddy-code.com and we will answer.

9

Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone. There is none to sell.

10

Security

Everything Osito stores lives in your device's app-private storage and is protected by your operating system and your screen lock. Keeping your device updated and locked is the best protection for it.

11

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new text is published inside the app and the effective date above is updated. Substantive changes, such as enabling advertising, arrive together with an app update, so you can read them before installing.
