Terms of Service

Effective July 31, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Teddy Code LLC for the use of Magniyo. Please read them, particularly the section on what a magnifier is not.

1

Acceptance

By installing or using Magniyo you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. Magniyo is provided by Teddy Code LLC, State of New Mexico, United States.

2

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Magniyo on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial use. All rights not granted here are reserved.

3

What you may not do

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise redistribute the app or any part of it;
  • rely on it where a misread character would be dangerous, such as reading a medication dose or a safety instruction, without checking by another means;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
  • remove or alter any attribution, copyright or licence notice;
  • use the app for anything unlawful, or in a way that interferes with anyone else.
4

Ownership and third-party material

Magniyo's name, logo, artwork, code and interface belong to Teddy Code LLC.

The interface glyphs are Material Design Icons under the Apache 2.0 licence, and the app is built on open-source libraries distributed under their own licences. Those licences cover the underlying works, not Magniyo as a whole. The full attribution list is available at contact@teddy-code.com.

5

A visual aid, not a medical device

Magniyo is an everyday visual aid. It is not a medical device, not a low-vision prescription aid and not a substitute for glasses, for a proper magnifier or for an eye examination. It does not diagnose, treat or correct any visual condition.

If you are finding it harder to read than you used to, see an optometrist or ophthalmologist. An app that makes the text bigger does not tell you why it got hard to read.

6

Accuracy and safe use

What you see is your phone's camera image, enlarged. Digital zoom loses detail, the contrast modes change how things look on purpose, and poor light makes all of it worse. Characters can be misread. Where that matters, and especially with medication, dosages, allergens, chemicals or safety instructions, confirm what you read by another means or ask someone.

Do not use Magniyo while walking, driving or operating anything. It is a magnifier, not a navigation aid, and looking at the world through a phone screen hides everything outside the frame.

The flashlight gets hot and drains the battery. Do not shine it into anyone's eyes.

7

Price, advertising and future features

Magniyo is currently free and shows no advertising. Later versions may add advertising or optional extras. Any such change arrives through an app update, with the terms and the privacy policy in the app updated to match.

8

Availability and changes to the app

We may change, suspend or discontinue Magniyo or any of its features at any time, and we may release updates that add, alter or remove functionality. We are not obliged to keep any particular feature or version available.

9

No warranty

Magniyo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate for any particular purpose.

10

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teddy Code LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, revenue or opportunity arising from your use of Magniyo. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which for the free version is zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11

Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. The sections on ownership, warranties, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.

12

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you use the app as a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights are unaffected.

13

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect, and the updated text is published in the app. Continuing to use Magniyo after an update means you accept the new terms.
