Terms of Service

By installing or using AviCalma you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. AviCalma is provided by Teddy Code LLC, State of New Mexico, United States.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use AviCalma on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial use. All rights not granted here are reserved.

You may not:

• copy, sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise redistribute the app or any part of it;
• present the app's content as clinical advice, or use it to treat or advise anyone else;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
• remove or alter any attribution, copyright or licence notice;
• use the app for anything unlawful, or in a way that interferes with anyone else.

AviCalma's name, logo, artwork, code and interface belong to Teddy Code LLC.

The interface glyphs are Material Design Icons under the Apache 2.0 licence, and the app is built on open-source libraries distributed under their own licences. Those licences cover the underlying works, not AviCalma as a whole. The full attribution list is available at contact@teddy-code.com.

AviCalma is an educational and self-help app about fear of flying. It is not a medical device, not therapy and not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. It does not diagnose or treat anxiety, panic disorder, phobia or any other condition, and nothing in it is medical or psychological advice.

The breathing and grounding exercises are ordinary self-regulation techniques, not a treatment protocol, and they will not work for everyone. If flying anxiety is affecting your life, or you are already in treatment, talk to a health professional and follow their guidance over anything the app says.

AviCalma cannot help in an emergency. It has no way to contact anyone, it does not monitor you, and nobody reads what you enter. If you are in crisis, or you are thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately.

The explanations of what happens during a flight are general, plain-language descriptions written to make normal sensations less frightening. They are not flight instruction, not aviation safety advice, and not specific to any aircraft or airline. They carry no live flight data of any kind.

On board, the crew's instructions always take precedence over anything in this app. Follow airline rules about the use of electronic devices.

AviCalma is currently free and shows no advertising. Later versions may add advertising or optional extras. Any such change arrives through an app update, with the terms and the privacy policy in the app updated to match.

We may change, suspend or discontinue AviCalma or any of its features at any time, and we may release updates that add, alter or remove functionality. We are not obliged to keep any particular feature or version available.

AviCalma is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teddy Code LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, revenue or opportunity arising from your use of AviCalma. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which for the free version is zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. The sections on ownership, warranties, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you use the app as a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights are unaffected.

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect, and the updated text is published in the app. Continuing to use AviCalma after an update means you accept the new terms.
